Nadie recuerda ya el d\u00eda exacto en que su voz cruz\u00f3 el umbral entre los vivos y los muertos para instalarse en las madrugadas como un susurro que hiela la sangre.<br data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"608\" \/>Dicen que fue en un tiempo en que la tierra era m\u00e1s tierra, cuando los hombres a\u00fan caminaban descalzos y las mujeres no ten\u00edan otro destino que el de aguardar. Aguardar al esposo, al padre, al hijo. Aguardar noticias, aguardar milagros, aguardar muerte.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"863\" data-end=\"1138\" class=\"\">Ella naci\u00f3 de madre silenciosa y padre ausente, como tantas otras. Su belleza era tan vasta como su miseria: ojos grandes, cabello negro como el ala del cuervo, piel de r\u00edo. Los hombres la miraban como quien mira un fruto ajeno, saboreando en secreto el deseo y el desprecio.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1474\" class=\"\">No tard\u00f3 en fijarse en ella un hombre de sangre noble, de tierras y apellido. La cortej\u00f3 entre las sombras, entre los senderos polvorientos y los murmullos de las ceibas, prometi\u00e9ndole amor, prometi\u00e9ndole un nombre, prometi\u00e9ndole un hogar.<br data-start=\"1379\" data-end=\"1382\" \/>Ella, que no sab\u00eda del mundo m\u00e1s que su espera, abri\u00f3 los brazos, el coraz\u00f3n, la vida misma.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1476\" data-end=\"1812\" class=\"\">Del amor prohibido nacieron dos hijos. Peque\u00f1os, fr\u00e1giles, envueltos en la pobreza y la esperanza. Durante un tiempo, ella crey\u00f3 que el amor bastar\u00eda para protegerlos. Ella, la muchacha de la trenza larga, qued\u00f3 fuera del mundo, relegada al lugar donde las mujeres ca\u00eddas guardan silencio o enloquecen.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2089\" data-end=\"2506\" class=\"\">Entonces, la locura \u2014esa fiebre que carcome el alma\u2014 comenz\u00f3 a gestarse en su interior. No fue s\u00fabita ni violenta; fue lenta, como las aguas que socavan la tierra hasta hacerla hundirse.<br data-start=\"2275\" data-end=\"2278\" \/>Una noche, el llanto de sus hijos fue m\u00e1s de lo que pudo soportar. La miseria, la soledad, la certeza de que jam\u00e1s ser\u00edan aceptados en un mundo que los repudiaba por su origen bastardo, todo eso la llev\u00f3 hasta la orilla del r\u00edo.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2508\" data-end=\"2715\" class=\"\">La luna, \u00fanica testigo, vio c\u00f3mo abraz\u00f3 a sus hijos por \u00faltima vez, les susurr\u00f3 palabras que s\u00f3lo la muerte comprendi\u00f3, y los dej\u00f3 ir. El agua se cerr\u00f3 sobre sus peque\u00f1os cuerpos con un suspiro casi amoroso.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2717\" data-end=\"2998\" class=\"\">Cuando la madre comprendi\u00f3 el vac\u00edo que hab\u00eda dejado tras de s\u00ed, fue tarde. Intent\u00f3 seguirlos, pero ni siquiera la muerte quiso recibirla.<br data-start=\"2855\" data-end=\"2858\" \/>Desde entonces vaga, atrapada entre el mundo de los vivos y el de los muertos, lament\u00e1ndose eternamente por lo perdido, por lo irremediable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3000\" data-end=\"3303\" class=\"\">Su figura se aparece en las m\u00e1rgenes de los r\u00edos, en los callejones oscuros, en las noches donde el viento trae olores antiguos. Viste de blanco, como novia nunca desposada, y su rostro es un mapa de penas. Su voz atraviesa las paredes, sube por las escaleras, se mete en los sue\u00f1os: <em data-start=\"3284\" data-end=\"3303\">\"\u00a1Ay, mis hijos!\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3305\" data-end=\"3836\" class=\"\">Los ancianos del pueblo dicen que es un mal augurio o una advertencia. Que quien escuche su llanto no debe responder, porque si ella se da cuenta de que la has o\u00eddo, te arrastrar\u00e1 con ella hacia el abismo.<br data-start=\"3510\" data-end=\"3513\" \/>Los ni\u00f1os, acurrucados bajo las mantas, se tapan los o\u00eddos cuando el viento susurra en la noche.<br data-start=\"3609\" data-end=\"3612\" \/>Y las mujeres... Las mujeres saben que no es una f\u00e1bula para asustar a los incautos. Es el recuerdo, feroz y palpitante, de todo aquello que se exige a las que nacen con la marca de la espera: sacrificio, silencio, renuncia.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3838\" data-end=\"4244\" class=\"\">La Llorona no es un monstruo.<br data-start=\"3867\" data-end=\"3870\" \/>Es una herida abierta. Una memoria viva. Un eco de las voces de todas las mujeres a quienes no se les permiti\u00f3 elegir su destino.<br data-start=\"3999\" data-end=\"4002\" \/>Ella sigue caminando, noche tras noche, porque su historia no termin\u00f3 en aquel r\u00edo.
